Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults. Within the CORE districts, SLP's work directly with children and students and staff to assist with individual or group skills in communication. They are also part of the team for evaluation of special education services when a communication deficit is expected.
